— FCLTGlobal, a non-profit organization whose mission is to focus capital on the long term to support a sustainable and prosperous economy, announced today that Carine Smith Ihenacho, Chief Governance and Compliance Officer at Norges Bank Investment Management, and João Schmidt, CEO of Votorantim, will join its board of directors effective 1 July 2023. 

FCLTGlobal was founded in 2016 to develop actionable research and tools used to drive long-term value creation for savers and communities. Its members participate in action-oriented programming and actively contribute to current research initiatives that promote long-term oriented strategies for companies and investors worldwide.

Carine Smith Ihenacho joined Norges Bank Investment Management in 2017 as Global Head of Ownership Strategies and was appointed Chief Governance and Compliance Officer in 2020. Her responsibilities include ownership and responsible investment activities, control and operational risk, compliance and legal services. Ihenacho holds a law degree from the University of Oslo, a Master of Law from Harvard Law School and a Master of Economics from the Norwegian School of Economics.

João H. Schmidt joined Votorantim in 2014 and has held the position of CEO since 2020. He is Chairman of the board of Banco BV as well as a board member of Auren Energia, Nexa Resources, CCR, and 23S Capital. Prior to Votorantim, João was a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs.

Alongside the two appointments, Kevin Sneader, President of Asia Pacific Ex-Japan for Goldman Sachs, and Howard Ungerleider, President and Chief Financial Officer of Dow, will step down upon the completion of their terms, and will assume the role of Strategic Advisors.
