FCLTGlobal is supported by leading global companies and institutional investors; it pursues its mission by developing research-backed strategies that enhance long-term value creation to build lasting financial security for savers, businesses, and communities.
“Scott and Greg represent the long-term thinking and leadership that today’s businesses and investors need. With their appointments, combined with Venkat stepping into a new role as Vice Chair, we’re positioning FCLTGlobal to drive systemic change in capital markets,” said Sarah Williamson, FCLTGlobal’s Chief Executive Officer.
Scott Chan is Chief Investment Officer of CalSTRS, the largest educator-only pension fund in the world, managing a portfolio valued at $369 billion as of July 2025. He oversees a team of over 260 investment professionals and leads nine core investment functions, including global equity, fixed income, private equity, real estate, sustainable investment and stewardship strategies, and total fund management. Scott joined CalSTRS in 2018 as Deputy Chief Investment Officer, bringing decades of investment leadership experience. He is a board member of the Toigo Foundation, co-chair and board member of the Institutional Investors Roundtable, and serves on the Milken Institute’s Executive Council for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Asset Management, among other advisory roles. He holds an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in economics from UCLA and is a CFA Charterholder.
“FCLTGlobal’s approach and commitment to creating long-term value directly support our goal of delivering sustainable retirement security for educators. I am eager to support the already robust partnership between CalSTRS and FCLTGlobal and help them continue to make real change across capital markets,” Chan said.
Greg Heckman is Chief Executive Officer of Bunge Global SA, a position he has held since 2019 after joining the company’s board of directors in 2018. With more than 40 years of leadership in agriculture, food processing, and energy, Greg has overseen Bunge’s strategic transformation, including its merger with Viterra, and has positioned the company as a global leader in sustainable feed, food, and renewable fuel production. Under his leadership, Bunge was added to the S&P 500 Index in 2023. Prior to Bunge, he served as CEO of The Gavilon Group, COO of ConAgra Foods Commercial Products, and President and COO of ConAgra Trade Group. He is a board member of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and OCI NV, and actively participates in the CEO Council for NYSE Board Services and Greater St. Louis Inc.
“Feeding a growing global population while protecting our planet demands patient capital; these goals are realized over decades, not quarters. I’m excited to help FCLTGlobal align more organizations to this approach, in support of society’s long-term needs,” said Heckman.
C.S. Venkatakrishnan (“Venkat”), who joined the FCLTGlobal board in 2024, serves as Group Chief Executive of Barclays. Venkat brings extensive experience in global financial services, having previously led Global Markets, served as Chief Risk Officer, and held senior leadership roles across asset management and investment banking at Barclays and JPMorgan Chase.
“Financial services often sit at an inflection point where short-term pressures conflict with future goals,” said Venkatakrishnan. “This is a pivotal moment for the investment industry, and I look forward to continuing to work with FCLTGlobal to reshape how we measure success; much depends on getting this balance right.”
The organization also announced today that Peter Grauer, Chairman Emeritus at Bloomberg, will join its Strategic Advisory. A board member of Bloomberg since 1996, he became Chairman in 2001; he retired from his position in 2025. FCLTGlobal’s Strategic Advisory is comprised of global executives who help shape its research and programming.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, we congratulate Scott, Greg, Venkat, and Peter on their appointments and thank them for their partnership. We look forward to working together to advance FCLTGlobal’s mission to focus capital on the long term,” said John Graham, Chair of FCLTGlobal’s board of directors and President and Chief Executive Officer of CPP Investments.
