Role Overview
FCLTGlobal is seeking a driven, high-caliber individual to join the research team as a research director. This is an exciting opportunity to help advance the organization’s research agenda, gain access to real-world corporate and finance decision makers, and produce research products that extend the organization’s reach and help ensure its impact.
The Research Director, also known as the subject matter expert (SME), will report to the Senior Managing Director, Head of Research, and will work closely with the other two SMEs within the research team to support the organization’s practical projects and foundational research. The vacant SME role is fully responsible for the research activities around stakeholder engagement, being one of FCLTGlobal’s three research pillars. This pillar focuses on the strategic dialogue between companies, institutional investors, service providers and other stakeholders to foster alignment around long-term objectives, including:
- Investor-Corporate Dialogue
- Demographics of markets
- Stakeholder Capitalism in Practice
- Investor Risk & Responsibilities”
The other two research areas include governance & incentives and data & technology. Most of the SME’s time will be spent on developing foundational research (whitepapers), writing commentaries on current trends, and organizing and leading research forums with FCLTGlobal’s members. This takes place in close cooperation with the other SMEs and the communications and member-relations teams.
Qualifications

As such, the successful candidate will display independence, creativity, passion, and a proactive spirit. Candidates must demonstrate comfort working independently and with ambiguity.
Candidates should possess:
- Strong research skills (both quantitative and qualitative) as demonstrated by experience analyzing data and academic studies (i.e., projects, papers); the ability to communicate findings in a practical and action-ready manner for decision makers; a track record of analyzing problems critically;
- High degree of professionalism;
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, structure and execute projects, and to translate research and conceptual work into meaningful recommendations and products that can be easily understood by diverse audiences;
- Strong verbal communication and presentations skills, and the ability to work within teams;
- An open mind and a keen attention to detail;
- Accountable, with a strong sense of professionalism and integrity, and ability to work well in an open and collaborative environment while staying on schedule;
- Master degree and a minimum of 10 years of research experience. Above all, the ideal candidate should possess a proactive, inquisitive mind. Investor relations experience is considered an advantage.
- Knowledge and experience of AI tools and techniques is a bonus.
